Personal Experience Writing
Outcomes & Objectives for Wk 2:

• consider YOUR use of Artificial Intelligence and whether and why you would use it for this first assignment: understand that if you use A.I. in any way to craft this first paper, you will need to acknowledge this use and identify the A.I. system you used
• consider your PROFESSOR’S use of Artificial Intelligence: understand that if you use A.I. to craft your paper, the professor will use A.I. to grade it; if you write your paper solely on your own, your professor will grade it solely on her own. If you use A.I. but fail to acknowledge your use, you will receive a failing grade on this assignment
• consider a meaningful personal experience; consider how to develop your “personal voice”
• edit your writing, either by yourself or in conjunction with the OWL or ZOOM tutors
• begin to understand the ramifications and effects of plagiarism, A.I. reliance, and APA documentation 

1. Review “Freewriting” @ http://guidetogrammar.org/grammar/composition/brainstorm_freewrite.htm and begin your Journal–remember that this is not turned in–it’s just a way for you to catch any thoughts or develop  some ideas about your writing assignments. Use whatever works for you.
2. Read “How to Get A.I. Features on an I-Phone”
3. Small Group Work: Will you be using A.I. when you write your Key Personal Experience paper? Why or why not?  Do you want your professor to use A.I. when grading your paper? Why or why not? Post your response to your Small Group.
4. Write Formal Writing Assignment #1: “One Key Personal Experience”
   
   • 750-1000 words. 1000 words maximum.
   • Submit your paper: click on the Turnitin “Submit Wk 2 Paper” link located just below the Small Groups in Session 2.
     • if you use A.I. in any way to craft this first paper, acknowledge this use and identify the A.I. system you used, at the TOP of your Wk 2 paper
     • Understand that if you use A.I. to craft your paper, the professor will use A.I. to grade it; if you write your paper solely on your own, your professor will grade it solely on her own. If you use A.I. but fail to acknowledge your use, you will receive a failing grade on this assignment.
