In this written assignment, you will continue your study of the case that you began in Week 1 with the Moral Position assignment and developed further in the Week 3 Ethical Theories and Your Moral Position assignment. You also will continue to build your argumentative essay writing skills. To begin, you will need to briefly summarize the ethical issues of your case study as well as the ethical theory you are applying and your ethical conclusion. Be sure to concisely present the important and necessary information while incorporating instructor feedback from your Ethical Theories and Your Moral Position assignment in Week 3.

Afterward, you will consider the perspective of different stakeholders regarding your chosen ethical case study and your conclusions about the case study. Choose two different stakeholder groups and analyze their perspectives that challenge your case, with the options being owners, employees, customers, communities, government agencies, investors, and business partners. Pick two stakeholder groups with different (maybe conflicting) interests and consider how they challenge your ethical conclusion. You also need to address any legal aspects involved with these interests as well as continue applying your chosen ethical theory.

In an argumentative paper of at least 1,200 words (excluding title, abstract, and reference pages) and citing at least three scholarly, peer-reviewed sources in addition to required readings, address the following:

  • Introduce your case study and your ethical position. In this introduction, briefly summarize the case study and your moral position, which was covered in your Week 3 Ethical Theories and Your Moral Position a Be sure to incorporate instructor feedback while limiting your summary to the necessary information. At the end of this section, in a thesis statement state the ethical theory that you will apply in this assignment, your main arguments, and your conclusions.
  • Evaluate the case from the perspective of one stakeholder group. In the next section of your paper, explain the interests of a stakeholder group in the case that might present challenges to your ethical position. Choose among the owners, employees, customers, communities, government agencies, investors, and business partners. What are the interests of this stakeholder group? What are their responsibilities? What conflict, if any, exists between the interests of this stakeholder group and your conclusion summarized at the beginning of the assignment?
  • Evaluate the case from the perspective of another stakeholder group. In the next section of your paper explain the interests of a different stakeholder group that might present challenges to the stakeholder group in the previous section. Choose among the owners, employees, customers, communities, government agencies, investors, and business partners. What are the interests of this second group of stakeholders? What are their responsibilities? What conflict, if any, exists between the interests of this stakeholder group and your conclusion summarized at the beginning of the assignment?
  • Compare commonalities and differences between the stakeholder group perspectives. Explain the commonalities between the respective positions of the two stakeholder groups. What goals and values are shared between them? What do the two stakeholder groups owe to each other? Identify a solution to potential conflicts that would allow for the most agreement and satisfaction between the two stakeholder groups.
  • Reconsider your ethical conclusion. In this last section of the paper, compare the perspective of the two different stakeholder groups and your ethical conclusion about the case study. Propose your ethical conclusion, or a revised version, to satisfy both stakeholder groups while remaining ethical and true to your identified ethical theory. If consensus between the perspectives of the different stakeholder groups is not possible, how would you propose the ethical conclusion despite the potential conflict of interests?
