While the Windows operating systems uses mostly FAT and NTFS, Linux supports over 100 different file systems.

To see a list of the various file systems, connect to your Kali Linux in MARS, and then type this from the terminal:

fdisk /dev/xvdf

From the menu, you can type l to list all of the file systems.

Some of the examples of file systems that you can discuss with your other team members include: FAT12; FAT16; FAT32; NTFS; EXT2; EXT3; Reiserfs and EXT4

Choose a file system and discuss the specifications (examples include journaling, supports compression, supports encryption).

There are over 100 file systems to choose from so make sure that you choose a file system not selected by another classmate.
