Major Website Review
Assignment: Complete the following tasks.
- Investigate your undergraduate academic program at TSU. (If you are undecided, pick a major that appeals to your interests.)
- Analyze the discipline’s TSU website by focusing on the following elements.
- Identify what key information is presented.
- Evaluate how easily one can navigate the website.
- Consider the aesthetic appeal of the layout. (In other words, evaluate the attractiveness and usefulness of the website’s visual design.)
- In your conclusion, offer your overall analysis of the website. Decide whether the text successfully appeals to two different groups: future students and current students. Incorporate specific details to justify your assessment.
Pre writing assignment:
Assignment 1-You will locate an academic review from an online academic journal. Your review must be current (i.e. published within the last 10 years). Your task is to write a 300 word response to the review. Your response will contain the following components:
- The title of the source text
- A brief overview of the evaluation including
- the writer’s criteria for analysis,
- two pieces of evidence supporting their evaluation
- and the reviewer’s overall judgment about the work.
- In your conclusion, decide whether the reviewer has successfully convinced you of their evaluation of the material. Justify your reaction.
Assignment 2-Complete a rhetorical analysis of your major’s brochure or their entry in the most recent university undergraduate catalog. Describe the purpose, audience, and organization of the text. Finally, discuss how the genre specific requirements of the brochure or catalog entry impact the overall effectiveness of the text. In other words, decide whether this was the most effective presentation based on the medium of the text. (250 words min)

You will compose a minimum 1000 word essay (No more than 1100 words). Also, remember to include a word count at the end of your document.
Format MLA (endorsement and header), Times New Roman 12pt. font, double spaced. BE sure to include a word count at the end of your rough and final drafts. You must upload your drafts and assignments 1 and 2 to the dropbox on Elearn before class on the day they are due.
