Nirvana and Meditation Religion
It can be said that nirvana is the ultimate state of extinguishing the desires and cravings that are in Buddhism which is a philosophy more than it can be a religion. The Buddhist does not believe in God and the soul spirit. It is the absolute truth, non conceptual and is, therefore ineffable. This is in contrast to the other monotheistic religions which is the ultimate aim of a Buddhist practice. From the psychological views, the concept of nirvana is more than 2500 years old. When the emotional and psychological defilement have been destroyed by wisdom, the mind tends to become free, joyful and radiant, and during death an individual is no longer subject to rebirth as it is considered ultimate happiness.
Abiding of in nirvana as a state of not dying as the highest attainment of the spiritual state is the reward for one who lives live that is of virtuous has been described by Buddha. Nirvana can be explained to the unenlightened through negation. It would be wrong to think that nirvana can be the actual result of the extinction of craving, but, it is not a result of anything. It would be a result if it would be an effect that is produced by a cause and since produced and conditioned it is neither a cause nor an effect
