WEEK 4 Discussion 1: Cultural Assumptions and Decision-Making

Prior to beginning work on this discussion forum, read Chapter 4 in El Emary, Brzozowska, & Bubel, (2021).

El Emary et al. (2021) suggested that management of organizational culture plays a significant role in how decisions are made in an organization. Decision making is influenced by the organization’s culture but can also be impacted by the individuals working in the organization.

• Discuss how the decision-making process in an organization could alter the organization’s culture.
• Analyze how cultural assumptions might influence the decision-making process within an organization.
• Provide an example from your own experience that reflects how a decision-making process was influenced by the culture in the organization.
• Describe how culture can be altered by a decision that was made in your organization (they can be two different examples).
