As a graduate of this program, you will need to translate abstract academic theory into concrete organizational behavior to improve an organization’s culture and performance. With that in mind, suppose your employer has paid your tuition for this class. In return for their investment, they expect you to present a report detailing specific suggestions to managers and/or executives for improving organizational culture. While you should assume you will be preparing a report for the organization’s top executives, you will submit this report as an APA formatted paper. You may structure this report and paper around your current organization and its culture or the culture of another organization with which you are familiar.

In a paper of at least 2,000 words (exclusive of title, abstract, and reference pages) and citing at least six scholarly sources in addition to required readings,

  • Explain the importance of organizational culture and the need to appropriately and effectively manage culture.
  • Analyze the current culture of the organization. Include the following in your analysis:
    • The current organizational structure
    • The model or theory that best describes the culture
    • Norms and values inherent in the culture of the organization
    • DEI impact on the culture
    • Cultural assumptions and decision making
    • The organization’s ability to make changes
    • How globalization has influenced the organization’s culture
    • Ethical issues affecting the culture
    • Risk-taking, innovation, and responsiveness within the organization
  • Propose a minimum of five actionable and detailed suggestions on how leaders could improve the organizational culture, providing a rationale grounded in the literature for each suggestion.
  • Explain the importance of effective leadership in changing and maintaining the culture of the organization.
