Project Management Journal 5-Complete the following for this assignment:
Set up a new MS Word document with a title page, page numbering, text for Journals 5 – 7 entries (use style Heading1) and a working table of contents. Follow APA style as much as possible. You will add to this journal (file) throughout Weeks 5 -7 and use it as a reference during your project and the next exam.
Read Chapter 5 Project Management and Chapter 6.1.4 Group Members and Listening. Answer the following under the Journal 5 heading making the beginning of each question Heading 2 style (the first few words will be fine).

This reflection portion is where you can let me know how the course is going, tell me about what is happening in your life (that may effect your work) or just vent. A brief statement that you are “ok,” is fine.
- Think about the triple constraint triangle. Now think about a project you have recently completed. This could be a homework project, cooking something or painting a room. Any project should work. In a few sentences, a good list or a graphic state how the scope/quality, schedule/time, and cost/resources for the project were related. Discuss or list how the changes in one of these, one side of the triangle, affected the others.
- List the interpersonal skill need to be a successful project manager. Which do you think is the most important and why?
- List the four phases of a project’s life cycle and where they fit into the steps of the SDLC, where do the happen in these phases?
- During the System Analysis step of the SDLC, evaluating alternatives is very important. You should evaluate the alternatives based research of the criteria or system requirements. What tool(s) should be used to help make and document this decision?
- Process management was discussed in Chapter 1. Project management is discussed in Chapter 5. What is the difference between project and process management?
- List and describe the 10 basic competencies required of project managers as defined in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) created by the Project Management Institute.
- What is Scrum methodology? What are their advantages? What are their disadvantages?
- Read this week’s overview and announcements again. Describe the basic functions of project management.
- Pick two groups of which you’re a member and list them. This can be your family, church, club, gym, etc. How would you compare the level of participation of their members in group discussions? How do their members’ listening practices compare? In which group do you find it harder to function as a listener? Why?
