People have vastly different opinions on the role and responsibility of learning institutions to provide sex education.  Teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases are real problems facing our adolescent population.  In some cases, the decision to engage in a sexual relationship is a life or death decision.

Read pages 370 – 372 in your text.

For this week’s main post, answer the following questions. Be sure to include factual, properly cited information in your post.

To what extent should the schools be responsible for teaching?  To what extent should sex education be left to parents?  Who should handle education about STDs?
