Week 5: Assignment #3: Article Review

Begin by reading this short article on High-Performing Teams: https://centre.upeace.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/7.2-high-performing-teams-need-psychological-safety.-heres-how-to-create-it.pdf

2.       Answer the following three questions: Copy and paste the questions in your document and place your answers beneath.

1) Do you agree with the main points of the article?  (You don’t have to).   If you agree, what are one or two points that resonated most?  If you don’t agree, what specifically don’t you agree with, and what do you observe to be different?

2) After describing Psychological Safety, the author discusses six ways a manager can increase psychological safety on their team.  As you think about your own management style, how would you rate yourself on each of the six?   List each of the six ways and provide a rating.  Is there one area you’d like most to improve?

3) If you had to identify a seventh (new) way to increase psychological safety or otherwise increase team effectiveness, what would it be?

DUE:

Submit a 2-3-page write-up (single-spaced) in the course submission. Include any reference to the reading that you feel is appropriate and use specific techniques and terminology from Chapters 7 and 8.  Go into depth in your write-up, provide support for key points and include specifics and examples where possible.  Remember to copy and paste the questions in your document and place your answers beneath. Your assignment will be due by Saturday of this week, midnight

Your write-up should be in clear, readable English. If you struggle with English writing, consider consulting GGU’s OWL service, which helps students strengthen their written English. Also, be sure to run Spelling and Grammar check in Microsoft Word or other document tool to correct any glaring mistakes.
