Week 6: Discussion #6

Please respond to one of the following questions. Please copy and paste the question in your document and place your answers beneath:

1.  What types of presentations (e.g., extemporaneous, impromptu, prepared, persuasive) will your career demand of you?  You may have more than one so describe as many as you can think of, using specific examples (e.g., delivering a status report at the weekly group meeting, providing training to other employees/peers, giving a speech to a large group of people). Which do you feel more/less confident about doing and why?

2.  Think about a presentation you have heard that you thought was very effective?  What was the topic of the presentation and what about it made it so successful?  Think about voice, charts/graphs, etc. Also, think about one that was not effective.  What did the speaker do that was unhelpful or failed?   (Be specific where possible).

3.  In a virtual presentation, how will you know when you have engaged the audience? We have been engaged more and more in a virtual workplace and have likely experienced Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or other types of virtual meetings/presentations. Use experience from both the presenter and the audience.
