Superfund Site Review
Conduct research to understand what a Superfund site is. Write a brief explanation of what a Superfund site means. Once you discover what a Superfund site is; find a Superfund site in your assigned state. (States will be assigned to each student that the student will use for the rest of the semester.)
Describe what makes your selected site a Superfund site, describe what actions have been taken to re-mediate (clean-up) the site, include who is involved in the site. (who caused it, who owns the land, how did it happen, what is the material(s) that are causing the contamination, is it a soil and/or ground water issue, how much money has been spent, when do they expect the land to get clean-up, how do they suggest cleaning it up.)
You may be able to get most or some of the information described above. Do not get hung up on facts that you cannot obtain, instead make sure you tell the story accurately as if you were to have to present your findings to the local population in a technical writing format.
Your paper should be at minimum 1 page, but not to exceed 2.; 0.5 margins all around; double spaced, times new roman 12 font; indent each new paragraph.
As stated in the syllabus, points will be deducted for spelling, grammar, and page format.
