The United Nations and Hellenistic institutions-Select one electronic article that details and current event that is no more than 30 days old at the time of submission from a vetted source (a newspaper, news magazine or website that focuses on current news based events) that directly relates to the topics that are included in one of the chapters required for each assignment.  No other sources are permitted. Note that the drop box will open one week prior to the assignment deadline.

• The event must be a news based current event (i.e. a natural disaster, economic crisis, social development, act of violence, leadership, etc)
• The key is that you select a current event that is somehow related to the course materials in specific terms—the focus of the article should parallel the topics in the chapter selected for discussion
• The article must be from a vetted source
• Note that you MAY NOT use any travel based sites, book reviews, blogs, historical or archaeological based articles, historical or archeological artifacts or anniversaries, updates on prior events or artifacts, textbooks, video or audio presentations, or any articles that are not news oriented or current event oriented
• Remember, not every article in a newspaper or news based site is a current event reflective of the fact that such outlets publish a variety of articles on a variety of topics. Carefully select a current event (something that just happened and is newsworthy) that you can parallel with something in the past in the chapters indicated for comparison.

You may not use any sources other than the article and your assigned textbook as a source to complete this analysis. DO NOT summarize your text.
