1. Include the author’s name and the title of the essay in the opening sentence of your response and put  “quotation marks” around essay titles, as you answer the following questions from “Is Google Making us Stupid,” (Carr, 2015).(WORD doc in link on week 4) 
   • How does the author claim his mind is changing?
   • What other “modes of development” does the author employ? Find examples of Process Analysis and Comparison/Contrast in his essay
   • What is the debatable issue in this essay?  Do you generally agree or disagree with the author?
2. Summarize “Sex, Lies, and Conversation” (Tannen, 1990).   IN WORD doc in week 4   Write only one developed paragraph–include only the author’s key points. Remember to provide the author’s name and the title of the article/essay in your opening sentence.
3. Post a scratch outline of your C & C essay:
   • include your “Working Thesis” (this must be written as a complete sentence)
   • include 3-4 points you will compare and contrast
   • identify which method you’ll most likely use to organize your essay (Point-by-Point or Subject-by-Subject)
   • identify at least one additional mode of development that you’ll incorporate into your C & C essay, such as Illustration Cause & Effect, Definition, Argument/Persuasion, Description, Definition, Narration, or Process Analysis.
